The official notification for the Indian Army Agniveer Recruitment 2026 has been released. The recruitment drive is expected to fill more than 25,000 vacancies across various posts, including Agniveer GD, Tradesman, Technical, Soldier Pharma, and other positions.

Eligible candidates who wish to join the Indian Army under the Agniveer scheme can apply online through the official website once the application process begins.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have passed 8th, 10th or 12th class from a recognized board or institution.

For certain posts, candidates should have passed Class 10th (Matriculation) with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in five main subjects and at least 33% marks in each subject. Candidates from boards following a grading system will have their grades converted to the equivalent percentage as per the required criteria.

For Indian Gorkha candidates, a simple pass in Class 10th is sufficient.

Selection Process

The selection process for Indian Army Agniveer Recruitment 2026 will be conducted in multiple phases as detailed below:

Phase I – Online Common Entrance Exam (CEE)

The Common Entrance Exam (CEE) will be conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT) at designated examination centres.

• Only provisionally shortlisted candidates will be allowed to appear in the exam.
• Entry to the examination centre will be strictly through the Admit Card issued by the Indian Army.
• The CEE is tentatively scheduled between 01 June 2026 and 15 June 2026.

Phase II – Recruitment Rally

Candidates will be shortlisted based on their aggregate marks in the CEE, in proportion to the available vacancies.

Shortlisted candidates will be called to attend the Recruitment Rally at designated venues where the following tests will be conducted:

• Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
• Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
• Medical Examination
• Document Verification

Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

The Physical Fitness Test will be conducted at the rally site.

1.6 Km Run

• Group I: Up to 7 Minutes 45 Seconds – Excellent
• Group II: 7 Minutes 46 Seconds to 8 Minutes 30 Seconds – Good

Other Physical Tests

• Long Jump: 10 Feet (Qualifying)
• High Jump: 3 Feet (Qualifying)

Note:
Candidates from hilly terrain areas may be given relaxation in the 1.6 Km run timing and adjustments in Long Jump and High Jump standards as per Army rules.

Medical Standards

Candidates must:

• Be in good physical and mental health
• Be free from any disease or disability that could interfere with military duties
• Pass the detailed medical examination conducted according to Indian Army standards

Final Merit List

The final merit list will be prepared based on:

• Aggregate marks obtained in the CEE
• Performance in the Physical Fitness Test (where applicable)

Selection will be made purely on merit, depending on the number of vacancies available.

Application Fee

• General (UR) / OBC / EWS: ₹1,000 + ₹180 GST = ₹1,180 (Non-Refundable).

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 17½ Years
• Maximum Age: 22 Years

Candidates born between 01 July 2005 and 01 July 2009 (both dates inclusive) are eligible to apply for this recruitment.

Age Relaxation:
Age relaxation will be provided as per government rules.

Special Provision for Widows of Defence Personnel:
The upper age limit is relaxable up to 30 years (as on the date of joining training) for widows of Defence personnel who died while in service.

Important Note for Women Candidates:

• Women who are widowed, divorced, or legally separated are eligible to apply provided they do not have any children and meet all other eligibility criteria.
• Widows of Defence personnel who died in harness can apply for Women Military Police positions.
• Such widows may apply even if they have children, but only if they have not remarried.
