Indian Navy Agniveer Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online for SSR, MR & SSR (Medical) Posts

The Indian Navy has released a recruitment notification for Agniveer SSR, MR and SSR (Medical) posts. Candidates who have passed 10th or 12th class from a recognized board are eligible to apply. The online application process will start on 14 March 2026 and will remain open until 06 April 2026. Eligibility Criteria

Gender & Marital Status: Only unmarried male candidates can apply for enrolment as Sailors in the Medical Branch for SSR (Med) 02/2027 Batch.

Educational Qualification:

  • Passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) from a board recognized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
  • Must have 50% aggregate marks and minimum 40% in each subject (PCB).
  • Candidates appearing in 12th Board Exam (2025–26) are also eligible, subject to producing the required marksheet later.

Physical Standards:

  • Minimum Height: 157 cm (relaxation as per government rules).
  • Must be in good physical and mental health.

Vision Standard:

  • Uncorrected: 6/12, 6/12
  • Corrected: 6/6, 6/6
  • Colour Vision: CP Pass

Tattoo Policy: Tattoos allowed only on inner forearms or back of the hand. Tattoos on other body parts are not permitted.

Insurance Cover: Sailors are provided ₹75 lakh insurance cover (on contribution basis).

Medical Examination: Candidates must meet medical standards during Recruitment Medical Examination and Pre-Enrolment Medicals at INS Chilka.

Salary/Stipend

Training Stipend: During the initial training period, candidates will receive a stipend of ₹14,600 per month.

Pay After Training: After successful completion of training, candidates will be placed in Level 3 of the Defence Pay Matrix (₹21,700 – ₹69,100) along with Military Service Pay (MSP) ₹5,200 per month + Dearness Allowance (DA) as applicable.

Promotion Opportunities: Sailors can be promoted up to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer-I, which falls under Level 8 of the Defence Pay Matrix (₹47,600 – ₹1,51,100) + MSP ₹5,200 + DA.

Training Facilities: During training and service, sailors are provided books, study material, uniforms, food and accommodation as per entitlement.

Selection Process

The selection process for Indian Navy SSR (Medical) Recruitment 2026 consists of two main stages followed by medical formalities.

Stage I – INET (Indian Navy Entrance Test)

  • Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT).
  • Questions: 100 objective-type (MCQs), 1 mark each.
  • Sections: English, Science, Biology, and General Awareness.
  • Exam Standard: 10+2 level.
  • Duration: 1 hour.
  • Language: Bilingual (Hindi & English).
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
  • Qualifying Criteria: Candidates must pass each section and overall aggregate (cut-off decided by Indian Navy).
  • Result: Marks and Pass/Fail status will be available on the candidate dashboard.
  • Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted state-wise for Stage II based on INET marks.

Stage II – Physical Test, Written Exam & Medical

  • Physical Fitness Test (PFT): Mandatory for all candidates.
    • 1.6 km Run: 6 minutes 30 seconds
    • 20 Squats (Uthak Baithak)
    • 15 Push-ups
    • 15 Bent Knee Sit-ups
  • Stage II Written Examination:
    • Conducted only for candidates who qualify PFT.
    • 100 MCQs (1 mark each), 1-hour duration.
    • Sections: English, Science, Biology, General Awareness.
    • Language: Hindi & English.
    • Candidates must pass each section and overall.
  • Recruitment Medical Examination:
    • Conducted for candidates who qualify PFT and written exam.
    • Medically fit candidates will be considered for the merit list.

Special Provisions

  • NCC ‘C’ Certificate holders and Sponsor candidates may be exempted from Stage I (INET) and directly called for Stage II, subject to certificate verification.
  • If INET cannot be conducted due to special circumstances, candidates may be shortlisted based on 10th/12th board marks.

Final Selection

  • Provisional Select List will be prepared based on Stage II written exam performance, subject to qualifying PFT and Recruitment Medical.
  • Merit list will be prepared state-wise as vacancies are allocated state-wise.
  • Selected candidates must undergo Pre-Enrolment Medical at INS Chilka before final induction.

Age Limit

Candidates must be born between 01 May 2005 and 31 October 2009 (both dates inclusive).

Application Fee

  • Examination Fee: ₹550 + 18% GST.
  • Payment Mode: Online only via Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card (Visa/Master/RuPay) or UPI.
  • Admit Card: Issued only after successful fee payment.
  • Refund Policy: The fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
  • Multiple Registrations: Candidates registering more than once will be rejected and the fee will not be refunded.
  • Failed Payment: If money is deducted but the admit card is not generated, candidates should wait up to 7 working days for an automatic refund.
  • Stage II Fee: No additional fee is required for Stage II.

How to Apply

  • Apply Online: Candidates can apply for Stage I – INET 2026 (SSR MED 02/2027 Batch) through the official website https://joinindiannavy.gov.in from 14 March 2026 (00:01 hrs) to 06 April 2026 (05:00 PM).
  • Registration: Register on the portal and fill the online application form with correct personal, educational and contact details.
  • Document Upload: Upload scanned copies of required documents such as certificates, mark sheets, domicile certificate and NCC certificate (if applicable).
  • Photograph: Upload the prescribed photograph and capture a live photo through webcam during the application process.
  • Application Fee: Pay ₹550 + 18% GST online via Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card or UPI. Admit card will be generated only after successful payment.
  • CSC Option: Candidates may also apply through Common Service Centres (CSC) by paying a service charge of ₹60 + GST.
  • Admit Card & Updates: Regularly check the candidate dashboard on the website for admit card, results and call-up letters.
  • Download Call Letter: Admit cards and call-up letters must be downloaded online; they will not be sent by post.
  • Document Verification: Candidates must carry original documents and self-attested copies during recruitment stages, including INS Chilka, for verification.
