South Central Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online for 2801 Posts

South Central Railway has released the South Central Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2025-26 notification for the engagement of 2,801 Act Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules, 1962.

The recruitment is for various trades including Fitter, Electrician, Welder, AC Mechanic, Carpenter, COPA, Diesel Mechanic and other technical trades.

Candidates who have passed 10th class with ITI in the relevant trade and belong to the notified districts of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh are eligible to apply.

Trade-Wise Vacancy Details

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have passed 10th Class/SSC (10+2 system) with minimum 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board.
• Must possess an ITI certificate in the relevant trade from an institute recognized by NCVT/SCVT.
• Eligible trades include: AC Mechanic, Carpenter, COPA, Diesel Mechanic, Electrician, Electronic Mechanic, Fitter, Industrial Electronics, Machinist, MMTM, Motor Mechanic Vehicle, Painter and Welder.
• Candidates must possess the required qualifications on or before the last date of online application submission.
• Engineering graduates and diploma holders are not eligible for this Act Apprentice notification, as they are covered under a separate apprenticeship scheme.

Salary/Stipend

Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend during the apprenticeship period as per the prescribed rates under the Apprentices Act and applicable government rules.

Selection Process

Merit-Based Selection: Candidates will be selected purely on merit, calculated by taking the average percentage of marks in 10th Class (minimum 50%) and ITI, with equal weightage given to both.

No Written Exam / Interview: There will be no written test or interview for the South Central Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2025–26.

Tie-Breaking Rule:

• If two candidates have the same aggregate percentage, the older candidate (higher age) will be given preference.
• If the date of birth is also the same, the candidate who passed Matriculation earlier will be preferred.

Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates will be called for Document Verification, where all original certificates such as educational qualifications, ITI certificate, caste/EWS certificate, PwBD/Ex-Serviceman certificate (if applicable), RDAT registration and other required documents will be verified.

Medical Fitness: Candidates must submit a medical fitness certificate issued by a government-authorized doctor (Gazetted Officer, not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon) in the prescribed format during document verification. Without this certificate, the candidature will not be considered.

Training & Stipend: Selected candidates will undergo apprenticeship training as per the syllabus prescribed by the Central Apprenticeship Council and will receive a stipend at the prescribed rates during the training period.

No Job Guarantee: The SCR Apprenticeship 2025–26 is only a training program, and does not guarantee a permanent job in Indian Railways after completion of the apprenticeship.

• Maximum age: 24 years.

• Read the Notification: Carefully read the SCR Act Apprentice 2025–26 notification and ensure you meet the eligibility criteria, including state/district eligibility and required 10th + ITI qualification.
• Complete Registration:
• Select your state and district.
• Upload address proof.
• Enter a valid mobile number and email ID.
• Create a password and verify the OTPs sent to your mobile and email.
• Fill the Application Form: Log in and enter your personal details (name, date of birth, category, etc.) and educational details (10th marks, ITI trade, ITI marks, RDAT registration number).
• Select Training Unit Preferences: Choose your preferred training units (Divisions / Workshops / Sheds) for eligible trades. Once submitted, preferences cannot be changed.
• Upload Required Documents:
• Recent colour photograph (JPEG, ≤1 MB, not older than 3 months)
• Signature image (≤1 MB)
• Certificates in PDF format (≤2 MB each): 10th mark sheet, ITI certificate, RDAT/NAPS registration form, caste/EWS certificate, PwBD/Ex-Serviceman certificate (if applicable), and medical certificate.
• RDAT/NAPS Registration: Ensure you have completed registration on the Apprenticeship portal (https://www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in) and obtained your registration number before applying.
• Preview & Submit: Check all details carefully on the Preview page. After clicking Submit, no changes will be allowed.
• Pay Application Fee: If applicable, pay the fee through Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, or UPI and generate the e-receipt.
• Print Application Form: Download and print the final submitted application form and keep it along with the fee receipt and uploaded documents for Document Verification.
