AAI Apprentice Stipend 2026
Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend according to their apprenticeship category.

For Graduate and Diploma Apprentices, the stipend includes the applicable AAI and Government contribution through DBT, as specified in the notification.
The apprenticeship training period is 12 months from the commencement of the Apprenticeship Contract.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should carefully check the educational qualification, passing-year requirement, age limit and domicile conditions before applying.
Educational Qualification
Graduate Apprentices:
Candidates must have a full-time regular four-year Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in the relevant notified discipline, recognized by AICTE/Government of India.
Diploma Apprentices:
Candidates must have a full-time regular three-year Diploma in Engineering in the relevant notified discipline, recognized by AICTE/Government of India.
ITI Trade Apprentices:
Candidates must possess an ITI/NCVT certificate in the relevant notified trade from a recognized institution.
Passing Year
Candidates must have obtained their qualifying degree, diploma or ITI qualification in 2024 or later.
Candidates who do not meet the prescribed passing-year requirement should not apply.
Age Limit
The age of the candidate will be calculated as on 16 September 2026.
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 26 years
- Relaxation in the upper age limit will be available to eligible SC, ST, OBC, PwBD and other categories as per applicable Government of India rules.
Domicile Requirement
Applicants must be Indian citizens and domiciles of one of the states/UTs listed in the AAI notification:

Candidates should ensure that they satisfy the prescribed domicile condition before submitting an application.
Who Is Not Eligible?
Candidates should note the following important restrictions:
- Candidates who have already completed an apprenticeship are not eligible.
- Candidates who terminated an apprenticeship midway are not eligible.
- Candidates currently undergoing an apprenticeship at the same qualification level are not eligible.
- Candidates with one year or more of apprenticeship/job experience after obtaining the essential qualification are not eligible, as per the applicable apprenticeship provisions.
- A candidate applying for more than one discipline will not be considered and such applications may be rejected.
AAI Apprentice Training Locations
Selected apprentices may be posted at various AAI airports, establishments and offices across the Northern Region.
Possible locations include:
Adampur, Agra, Aligarh, Amritsar, Ayodhya, Azamgarh, Bareilly, Bhatinda, Bikaner, Chitrakoot, Dehradun, Farukkhabad, Fursatganj, Gorakhpur, Gwalior, Hindon, Hissar, Halwara/Ludhiana, Jammu, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Kangra-Gaggal, Kanpur, Khajuraho, Kullu-Bhuntar, Kushinagar, Kishangarh, Kota, Lucknow, Leh, Moradabad, Muirpur, Meerut, Pantnagar, Pathankot, Pratapgarh, Pithoragarh, Prayagraj, Safdarjung, Shravasti, Srinagar, Shimla, Udaipur, Varanasi and various AAI offices in New Delhi.
The final place of training will be decided by AAI. Requests for a change of allotted location will not be entertained.
AAI has also indicated that candidates may preferably be considered for locations based on the registration location provided on the relevant apprenticeship portal.
AAI Apprentice Selection Process 2026
There is no written examination for this apprenticeship recruitment.
Selection will primarily be based on the candidate’s marks in the qualifying examination.
Selection Stages
1. Merit List
Candidates will initially be shortlisted on the basis of their percentage of marks in the qualifying degree, diploma or ITI examination.
Where applicable, CGPA will be converted into a percentage according to the rules/norms of the concerned university or board.
2. Document Verification
Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification. Communication regarding verification will be sent to the candidate’s registered email ID.
3. Interview/Certificate Verification
Candidates may be required to appear for the prescribed verification/interview process and submit the necessary original documents.
4. Medical Fitness
Selected candidates must submit a Medical Fitness Certificate issued by a Government Medical Officer or Medical Officer of a Government Undertaking, as prescribed by AAI.
5. Final Engagement
Candidates who successfully complete the required verification and medical formalities will be considered for final engagement as apprentices.
Important: Shortlisting for document verification or medical examination does not guarantee final selection.

Graduate and Diploma candidates should:
- Visit the NATS 2.0 portal.
- Register as a student if they do not already have a valid NATS account.
- Complete the required profile and educational details.
