Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility is based on both educational qualification and recognized sports achievements.

Age Limit
The candidate must be between 18 and 25 years of age as on 1 January 2027.
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Maximum age: 25 years
- Date of birth should be between 1 January 2002 and 1 January 2009, both dates inclusive.
Candidates should check the official notification for any applicable conditions.
For posts requiring clerical duties, candidates may also have to qualify a typing test of 30 words per minute in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi within the prescribed period.
Sports Achievement Eligibility
Applicants must have obtained the required sports achievement during the specified eligibility period:

The achievement must be in a recognized championship/event and must satisfy the sports norms prescribed for the relevant pay level.
Level 5/4 Sports Norms
Candidates may qualify through achievements such as:
- Representation of India in the Senior Olympic Games.
- At least third position in recognized World Cup or World Championship events.
- Participation/achievement in Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, Youth Olympics or other specified international competitions.
- Specified international achievements in Hockey and Badminton.
Level 3/2 Sports Norms
Eligible achievements include specified participation or medal positions in:
- World Cup and World Championships.
- Asian Games and Commonwealth Games.
- Youth Olympics and other specified international competitions.
- Commonwealth, Asian or South Asian championships.
- Senior/Youth/Junior National Championships.
- National Games.
- All India Inter-University Championships.
- Federation Cup Championships.
Level 1 Sports Norms
Eligible candidates may include sportspersons who have:
- Represented their country in specified recognized championships.
- Secured the required position in Federation Cup Championships.
- Represented a State or equivalent unit in Senior National Championships with the required ranking.
Note: Sports eligibility varies by discipline. Candidates should check the event-specific conditions in the official notification before submitting an application.
Important Sport-Specific Conditions
The notification contains additional conditions for several sports.
For example:
- Athletics: Certain medal-winning performances in recognized national and international championships may qualify.
- Cricket: Specific achievements in Senior, U-23 and U-19 Inter-State, Inter-Zonal and Challenger Trophy competitions may be considered.
- Hockey: Additional eligibility provisions apply to certain international tournaments and National Championships.
- Weightlifting: The revised weight categories effective from 1 June 2025 will apply.
- Wrestling: Specific conditions apply to certificates issued for events conducted by WFI or its affiliates during the specified period.

For eligible candidates who actually appear in the Selection Trial, ₹400 out of the ₹500 fee will be refunded after applicable bank charges.
For candidates paying ₹250, the fee is fully refundable after applicable bank charges, subject to the eligibility and trial-attendance conditions mentioned in the notification.

RRC WR Sports Quota Selection Process
The selection process consists primarily of a Selection Trial followed by assessment on merit.

Candidates must secure at least 25 out of 40 marks in the trial assessment to be declared FIT. Candidates declared NOT FIT will not be assessed further.

Appointment will be based on merit, subject to fulfillment of all eligibility, medical and document-verification requirements.
If candidates obtain equal marks, preference will be given to the younger candidate.

Important Instructions for Candidates
