SSC SSA Recruitment 2026 Notification Out – Apply Online for 65 Senior Secretariat Assistant (SSA) / UDC Posts

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the SSC SSA Recruitment 2026 Notification for 65 Senior Secretariat Assistant (SSA) / Upper Division Clerk (UDC) posts under the Central Secretariat Clerical Service (CSCS), Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT).

This is a Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) conducted exclusively for eligible departmental Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) / Lower Division Clerk (LDC) employees. SSC SSA Vacancy 2026

The Staff Selection Commission has announced 65 vacancies for the post of Senior Secretariat Assistant (SSA) / Upper Division Clerk (UDC) under the Central Secretariat Clerical Service (CSCS).

Note: The category-wise vacancy details (UR, SC, ST, PwBD, etc.) will be notified separately by the concerned cadre controlling authority.

SSC SSA Eligibility Criteria

Only departmental employees fulfilling the eligibility conditions prescribed in the notification can apply for this examination.

Candidates must:

  • Be a regular Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) / Lower Division Clerk (LDC) in CSCS.
  • Fulfil the required service conditions.
  • Have passed the prescribed Typewriting Test or possess a valid exemption.
  • Continue to remain in service until the recruitment process is completed.

Applications submitted by ineligible candidates are liable to be rejected at any stage of the recruitment process.

SSC SSA Age Limit

The official notification does not prescribe any separate age limit for this Limited Departmental Competitive Examination.

Eligibility is determined mainly on the basis of departmental service requirements and other conditions specified by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT).

SSC SSA Educational Qualification

No separate educational qualification has been prescribed for this recruitment.

Candidates must be serving as eligible departmental Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) / Lower Division Clerk (LDC) under the Central Secretariat Clerical Service (CSCS) and fulfil all service-related eligibility conditions.

SSC SSA Service Requirement

Candidates must have completed at least five years of approved and continuous service in the Lower Division Clerk (LDC) grade as on 01 August 2025.

However, candidates appointed through a competitive examination or previous LDCE may become eligible after completing four years of approved service, subject to the conditions mentioned in the official notification.

Candidates must also satisfy the Typewriting Test requirement unless officially exempted.
