Eligibility Criteria
This is a promotion-based recruitment for serving Bihar Home Guards. It is not a regular open recruitment for all graduates.
Candidates must satisfy the following conditions:
- The applicant must be an Indian citizen.
- The candidate must be enrolled and trained in the Bihar Home Guard Vahini.
- The candidate must have completed at least 5 years of service/duty in the organization.
- The candidate must have at least 10 years of remaining service as prescribed in the notification.
- The candidate must satisfy the required educational qualification.
- The candidate must fulfill the prescribed physical standards.
- Men, women and third-gender Home Guards can apply, subject to the prescribed conditions.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must have passed a graduation examination from a recognized university or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the State Government.
The required qualification must have been obtained on or before 01 August 2026.
Age Limit
The age will be calculated as on 01 August 2026, based on the date of birth recorded in the Matriculation or equivalent certificate.

The first chest measurement is the unexpanded measurement and the second is the expanded measurement. A minimum expansion of 5 cm is required.

BPSSC Company Commander Salary
The post of Gulma Samadesta (Company Commander) carries Pay Level-6 of the applicable pay matrix.

Candidates must obtain at least 30% marks in the Preliminary Examination to qualify for the Main Examination.
Candidates qualifying for the Main Examination will be shortlisted category-wise, subject to the conditions and ratio specified in the official notification.
Main Examination
The Main Examination consists of two papers:

Paper 1 is qualifying in nature and its marks are not counted for the final merit list.
