Free Indian history quiz for UPSC, SSC and State PSC

From the Indus Valley to the Republic, in timed rounds split the way the syllabus is - with an explanation after every answer.

Choose an era, a difficulty and a mode, and the round is drawn fresh with shuffled options. Every answer is followed by a one-line explanation, so you learn the context around a date or a name rather than just whether you guessed right.

When the round ends you see your score, accuracy and a breakdown by era, which tells you exactly which period to revise next. Every question is then listed with its answer and explanation for review.

How to get the most out of the Indian History Quiz

Anchor every fact to a date

History questions turn on chronology. Knowing the year of an event lets you rule out options that come before or after it.

Revise one era at a time

Filter the quiz to a single era. Facts from the same period support each other, and the result screen shows which era is weakest.

Learn the "who, where, when" set

For every movement or battle, know who led it, where it happened and the year. Most history MCQs ask for one of those three.

Replay the freedom struggle often

Modern India and the freedom struggle carry the most questions in SSC and UPSC papers. They are worth the most repeat rounds.
